MPAC - Request for Reconsideration (RfR) Deadlines Revised
- May 13, 2020

Yesterday the Province extended the Emergency Declaration until June 2, 2020 (see news release).  As a result, the regular RfR filing deadline is now extended to June 18, 2020. The following table is a summary of impacted products and their revised RfR deadlines, reflective of today’s update:

 Requests for Reconsideration (RfR)

 •    Every property owner has the option to file an RfR if they disagree with their assessed value or classification.

•    Property owners have 120 days from the issue date on their Notice to file an RfR. The issue date and RfR deadline are included on your Notice.

•    Due to the emergency declared by the Province of Ontario, under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act and its regulations, the deadline to file an RfR may have been extended.

•    Please ask Property Owners to log in to AboutMyProperty to confirm their deadline to submit an RfR or to contact us.

•    The fastest way to start the review of a property’s assessment is to file an RfR on aboutmyproperty.ca.

Property owners are being advised to check their RfR deadline by logging in to AboutMyProperty or by contacting our toll-free Customer Contact Centre
