Calvin Ad Hoc Roads Committee

The Calvin Ad Hoc Roads Committee was created under By-Law #2016-001 at the regular Council meeting on January 12, 2016.

Committee Mandate

To draft a Road Maintenance By-Law which clearly sets out the definition of roads within the jurisdiction of the Municipality as either a:

  1. Year Round Maintained Road,
  2. Seasonal (Summer) Maintained Road,
  3. Private Road, or
  4. Unmaintained Road

In addition, the Road Maintenance By-Law will clearly list the road names along with the level of service, the patrolling and the maintenance period annually, as well as clear signage identifying certain types of roads where required.

This Committee will review, research, hear requested delegations from the Public, and then make final recommendations by Report to Council on the development of a Policy to address the following:

  1. Request for year round maintenance of a Seasonal Road,
  2. Request for assumption of a Private Road for year round maintenance,
  3. Request to assume and maintain an unassumed municipal road allowance.
